Hello, I have a 1999 seafarer 228 with a 225 ox 66 2stroke mounted in the second hole down in the upper bracket. It has a 15 1/4 x 17" stainless 3 bladed prop. It runs very well and will top out at 41 mph with a full tank(92 gallons)10 gallons of fresh water, and 2 people on board.I was wondering if anything can be gained by going up another hole on the motor height. Do any of the other members have a similar setup and what hole is your motor mounted in? Similar performance? Thanks,Mike

My boat is in Columbia right now 3 hours away. I don't recall the mounting height or bolt hole position. With that said, with a 15.25 x17 4 blade prop with a F250 it tops out around 42. I don't know how much you will gain or lose by moving the motor up. If you have the tools and time to move it yourself then try it and see if it does what you wish. As a side note , I rarely run my motor WOT and it pretty much needs to be flat on the sea or in the lake when I do.

I mounted mine all the way up (200HO Etec).

Tops out at 41mph using 17pitch prop.

Don't think you are going to gain much if anything.
