All the bumpers for my Freedon 225 are 6” but I just added a 2003 Marlin 30 to my fleet. Something tells me I need some bigger bumpers for a bigger boat. What size bumpers do I need for the Marlin? Thanks

I use the 8.5" Polyform fenders and that is probably your minimum. If you hold the fender against the hull, it should protrude beyond the rub rail above it.

Just an added piece of advise, I would also suggest using 5/8" dock lines.

Hi John. Congratulations on the Marlin. I have 4 from West marine that I think are 10 inches that I use. You are better off having them to big.

Thanks everyone:
I was going 8’s but sounds like I need 10’s. It’s a 2003 Marlin 30 with the exhaust repair kits installed in the Yamaha 225’s and new isenglass. The surveyor said it’s a good boat and my wife Carole actually likes it even though it’s not the Express33 she wanted. Now I can run with the big dogs!

I have the Marlin. 8 1/2 Black Taylor Superguards. Don't go too big, PIA to store. Dock lines should be 5/8" as recommended. I found 1/2 is a little light and 3/4 is definitely too large for the cleats.
