Looking to repower the original '93 Yamaha 225 with 450hrs on it. This boat is in great shape as my brother never used it and stored it in a high and dry for years. I'm looking at going with a single 250-300, but want to be mindful of weight. It has the original single outboard bracket. Anyone running a modern 300 4-stroke with that bracket?

I have a 2016 Suzuki DF300 on my 1992 246G Explorer. No problem with weight. Love the motor, especially the electronic throttle. Yamaha 300 weighs even less.

Just got a Zuke300 quote with fly by wire installed out the door under 20k. How much more for the G2?

Repowered my '92 246G about a year ago with a Yamaha 250 VMax. Fantastic motor and was able to reuse all of my controls/cables. Somewhere around 20K-21K out the door. Yamaha has the 5 year warranty incentive program going on right now which is an added plus. You're in SW Florida also. Call KG at Ingmann Marine - 941-255-1555. He'll do you right.

I repowered with the G2’s on my F26. Pay close attention to the 3” setback of these engines and how it will ad to the transom. It makes a difference. I am happy with everything about this switch and performance is outstanding.

Went to look at the G2 yesterday. I like everything about this motor. Seems to be a torque monster! Anyone see issues with the Grady drive and new power? I'm taking it off stripping it and adding LineX. Are these old brackets stout enough for the added weight/HP?

Options are limited with Yamaha's inept issues. It's either the G2 or the Zuke unless I go 250.
