After some confusion and consternation with battery switches on my new to me 265 Express...
concluded that Port engine was not charging battery.
Measuring aux charging wire got ~ 0V dc.
Measuring 3 green wires on stator got 0V ac
Measuring resistance of stator between all 3 green wires infinite ohms.

36mm socket wrench- $20 AutoZone
Bolt-type wheel puller- $14 Harbor Freight
18" by 1/2" breaker bar wrench - $10 Harbor freight

Pulled flywheel and yes ..stator has broken wires.
Debated used on ebay $140 or new at Boats.net $593...went with new.
Waiting for part...

I know they are expensive. The 2 Orange posts are the ones that create the electricity to charge the battery and the many brown posts create the electricity for the ignition coils. New was the correct choice.

I would think that the 'charging' voltage with the motors running ( and the bank charger off) would have been looked at. The open coil would not generate and charging voltage and current.
