Mounting 4-Stroke on transom of 92' 24 ft Explorer

Not sure about the size constraint but I have a 94 Explorer with the bracket with 2008 twin 150 2 strokes which weigh 425lbs each. If you are going for the single i would say weight is going to be fine plus you are getting rid of the weight of the remote oil tank. I would say that this boat...

    Explorer 246G Question

Thats a tough one did mine last year. Remove the tackle drawers under the chair pedestal and you can gain some access but its impossible to reach the drain on the smaller box (you can get to the big one from the access plate by the 2 thru hulls) so you have 2 choices in my experience, make a...

Need help with 1990 gulfstream wooden trim

The other option is to take it all off and send it to Brown and Fin Addict Marine. Hes very reasonable and makes it all to size, even drills the holes in the right place out of starboard. I did the whole boat on my 94 Explorer added some bolsters and new cusions and it looked like new...

    used Explorer question

A little old but I did alot of resaearch on repowering my 1994 Explorer which might help you. I bought it as a non runner and gave it a total makeover. With twin original 2 stroke 150s the scuppers are already partially under water, not by much but enough not to want them any deeper. About...

    RESTORING TOE HOLDS 272 SAILFISH

I took mine off and sent them to Brown Towles at fin addict Marine. He then replicated them in Seafoam starboard (off white color) drilled the holes in the right place and they look great. I actually sent all the fake wood on the boat and it came back replicated perfectly ready to screw back on...

    First Offshore trip.

I got tackle alright been sneaking it into the house since January  ....but I think the $$$$ spent means on a per lbs basis I could have had a fish cast out of gold for less. Probably go all that way and end up with a couple of bluefish.

    First Offshore trip.

I'll check which seatow the coverage i have. Marking the chart wit a marker seems smart. I have an epirb, survival suits(great deals on ebay for used), flares, back up handheld vhf, life jackets, first aid kit, is there anything else you would suggest? Thanks for the great info.

    First Offshore trip.

Yes i think im pushing it too far. I think a trip to the Mud hole area maybe a better place to start testing how things go. 70g for the 30/40 mile trip from where i'll start 10-20g for fishing and moving around, leaves 40g of useable incase my consumtion, distance or conditions estimates are...

    Bad marine supplier

I too had a bad experience with Marine Nutz. I got my seats eventually but it took 6 weeks or so of emails and phone messages and a number of pretty strong ones. No one ever answered the phone when i called.

    Repower tach problem

I recently repowered from Yamaha 1994 150 carbs to leftover Yamaha 2008 150 carb motors. The speedo lights up as expected but the tachs show no sign of life even though they worked perfectly with the previous motors. They are definately getting current. I just wondered if anyone knew or had...

    24 Explorer Windlass Location

Mine is actually located on a piece of starboard on the achor hatch which is sealed shut. Seems to work pretty well.
