    smell of gas

Did you check the primary tank? Mine was pitted on the bottom only. I'm sure you can imagine that both tanks were in the same environment. Pulling them is the only way to check.

Sorry, don't visit much this time of year. Blocked up the trailer so I get gut clearance for painting bottom. I use a mechanics crawler. With a helper it's a 1-hr chore rather than a half day ordeal.

    Fuel tank install - 83-204c

You can buy various thickness' of ABS plastic and glue them in place as well. I'd stay away from rubber as it will again rot over time.

    Fuel Tank Draining

I too siphoned it the way richie suggested. I had a 20 gallon drum I got from a local race track. I used the fuel in the mower AND the F150. The F150 didn't miss a beat. :)

    Fuel Tanks

If the tanks are original they are aluminum. Not sure about where you live, but up here we switched over to ethanol fuels last year. Going to see lots of plugged filters as a result. Keep changing filters and draining the water trap, if you have one. Add marine stabilizer to fuel for a...

    Gas Tanks - help

I bought mine from the guys in FL that made the original tank. I paid shipping and got a tank that fit the first time around. I figured doing the install myself covered the shipping.

    fuel tank install 204 overnighter

Did it on my 1987. I wouldn't glue the tank in place with 5200 either. I glued strips of plastic at the contact points. I wedged the tank back in just like it was originally. all my corrosion was at the bottom where the tank contacted the hull. Before During 5200 and ABS...

Elbow grease. 3m Restorer/wax. Previous owner was a self admitted low maintenance guy. He didn't leave me with the best gel coat. Each season I get it as good as I can then launch and fish.
