Cabin cushion covers in the washer

I've done it. Washed and dryed with no issues. Pretty sure I used the delicate and low heat settings.

Yamaha 200 Saltwater Series Squeaking Sound

Could be a bearing starting to go out. Does it still squeak in gear? Also, you may be able can use a stethoscope or dowel rod to help pinpoint the noise.

    Fitting 228 hardtop on a 208

I'd bet they are very close, and you got the guy to modify it if need be. I've got a 93 208 with a factory hardtop if you need any measurements just let me know.

Carburetor rebuild - Pilot screw turns question

That's part of the reason I mentioned getting a service manual and following the steps for link/sync. Admittingly I'm much more familiar with Mercs. My understading is the pilot screws are just metering the air to the idle circuits prior to the blades opening. Inital ignition timing should be...

Carburetor rebuild - Pilot screw turns question

I'd set them all the same, get it fired up and adjust all as needed to get the correct idle RPM. I also always suggest getting a factory service manual.

Would you avoid a mid 90s Grady White in the 2020s?

Depends on the boat. All of them will need atleast some work. I tend to like the layouts better on the 90s boats. I've got a 93 208 hooked to the truck now, going fishing tomorrow. Still rock solid, but I've got alot of time in it. Wiring, updating, hoses, line, ect. There are good ones out...

Yamaha 175 2stroke- Hard to start.

I have seen broken or chipped reeds cause similar issues. Electrically operated choke should not stick. Check linkage. Starting procedure would be, pump bulb firm. Shove key in to activate choke and hold until running. Then bump the key as needed to keep the motor running until warm.

    93 208 Repower - V6 or V8 Mercury

I was just messing with you seasick. Pretty sure I took these running to fish. Full of fuel, livewell full of bait, fishing gear, and just me onboard. Prop is a 19p Mirage Plus. I think the V6 225 Merc would be perfect on this 208. I actually looked at a bigger Grady (248 Voyager) on Friday...

    93 208 Repower - V6 or V8 Mercury

Speed measured with a Dutchman's log. I use a brick and rope to measure depth.

    93 208 Repower - V6 or V8 Mercury

I guess what I'm really asking is if anyone knows or has experience with the difference in performance of the 3.4L V6 225HP vs. the 4.6L V8 225HP. Then there is the 225HP Pro XS which is also a V8. The V8 should be better, just don't know if its worth the additional weight/fuel burn. Everything...

    WTB PULPIT/RAIL FOR 208

Factory pulpit for a 208 should be 42x14. I ended up just going with a roller.

    93 208 Repower - V6 or V8 Mercury

Anyone on here repowered a 208 with one of the new Mercs? I'm currently running a 04 200 carbed Merc that weighs 406lbs. It performs well and tops out at 42 loaded heavy. Boat has a hardtop and terrible bottom paint. The bottom paint issue will be fixed soon enough. Sticking with a basic...

    WTB PULPIT/RAIL FOR 208

Someone bought the entire boat before I could pick it up. That one was on Facebook marketplace.
