Re: Gulfstream Hull Harness: Where Does it Come Out Up Front
Thanks guys!
I found the tube. I unscrewed the lower panel on the bulkhead next to the toilet.
Can't wait to snake the new cable through!
Hi Guys,
I've got to snake a new transom mounted transducer wire to the electronics box. I can see the 'hull harness' tube on the starboard side behind the transom door.
My question is where does this tube come out up front? Is it behind where the capacity plaque is below where the throttle is...
Re: Outrigger Install on Grady 232 Hardtop Weld or Backer Pl
Thanks for all the feedback guys. I'm feeling more confident about not welding and using a bolted on back plate similar to what ayacht used on his boat.
I've got a 2007 Grady White Gulfsteam 232 and am looking to mount Taco 1.5" Outriggers to the hardtop.
Is the hardtop sturdy enough to support the outriggers with just backer plate?
Or do I need to weld a plate in to the aluminum frame to support them?
Thanks in advance.
I'm about ready to pull the trigger on a Garmin 741xs with GMR 18HD Radar.
Before I start drilling holes, I'd like to hear of any installation lessons learned and tips.
My understanding is the installs are plug and play but want to avoid amateur mistakes.
Yea I fretted about the possibility of the tarp damaging the gelcoat but I have not had a single issue with that. You just need to keep it tight and have a good frame in place. What's critical is having the boat close by so you can check on it. I would not tarp the boat if it were an hour away...
Get the bungy cords with the orange balls at home depot. The balls are designed to put equal pressure on the tarp grommets. Build a frame, use carpet remnants on all the sharp edges and wrap the cover under the boat.
I've got the identical set up. The boat really struggles with a full load of fishing gear and 140 gallons of fuel. I have thought about an upgrade to the 300. Will there be a sacrifice in range and fuel burn? At this point I can't justify the cost vs. benefit. Better off upgrading to a larger...
I'm thinking about adding radar to my 2007 232 and hope you guys can help me narrow down my search.
Which combos are most recommended and most commonly installed on this class of boat?
What should I expect to pay?
Pros and Cons of different set ups.
Do you guys install your own units? If so...
Thanks for the info Journeyman! I hope someone will let me trace their center cushion support boards. That'll be a big help especially in the case of the Gulfstream supports since the shape is not at all square.
After being quoted $1,400 for the factory Gulfstream auxiliary cushion supports, I am now moving on to pursuing "Plan B" or "Plan C".
Guys I tried sleeping on this boat without the center cushions and I just can't get my 6' 1" frame comfortable.
Plan B: Does anyone have a support set they...
If this is the boat at Southeastern Marine in Virginia, I just cannot say enough positive things about Scott and the dealership. I bought a Gulfstream from them in the Spring. Great people to deal with. First class operation.
Thanks for the feedback guys! Has anyone had any experience using the Yamaha 'Command Link' fuel consumption gauge? I have not used it yet. Any feedback on its accuracy?
I am curious to know how far out other Gulfstream owners take their boats. I have a 2007 with a single F250 that was new to me last year. I have put several hours on her doing trips to Block and Montauk and one 25 Miles Offshore getting used to the boat and its capabilities. I would like to hear...
