I've got a 2007 Grady White Gulfsteam 232 and am looking to mount Taco 1.5" Outriggers to the hardtop. Is the hardtop sturdy enough to support the outriggers with just backer plate? Or do I need to weld a plate in to the aluminum frame to support them? Thanks in advance.

I'm about ready to pull the trigger on a Garmin 741xs with GMR 18HD Radar. Before I start drilling holes, I'd like to hear of any installation lessons learned and tips. My understanding is the installs are plug and play but want to avoid amateur mistakes.

Yea I fretted about the possibility of the tarp damaging the gelcoat but I have not had a single issue with that. You just need to keep it tight and have a good frame in place. What's critical is having the boat close by so you can check on it. I would not tarp the boat if it were an hour away...

Get the bungy cords with the orange balls at home depot. The balls are designed to put equal pressure on the tarp grommets. Build a frame, use carpet remnants on all the sharp edges and wrap the cover under the boat.
