    how to store eisenglass curtins

I use Strataglas cleaner during the season and then hit them with the strataglas polish before putting away for the summer. I use a piece of old soft bed sheet to put in between the pieces before rolling up. I got the cardboard tube from my curtain maker that the strataglas comes in for...

Moving batteries to cuddy cabin of 204/208?

Thanks for the informative replies, sounds like more trouble than it's worth and could lead to other issues. I went with the 175 four cylinder so the added weight was only 100lbs but then I got to lose the oil tank which was a partial offset.

Moving batteries to cuddy cabin of 204/208?

I repowered to a four stroke and thinking of moving my batteries from the transom to the two storage areas in the cabin to better balance out the added weight of the four. Never use the forward storage as stuff will just get mildewed. Has anyone done this? Pretty simple or more involved than I...

    Overnighter Rod Storage

Another great idea. I like to get my extra rods out of the way when fishing but the 7'ers are too long for the cabin. Have to consider a mod like this now. Thanks for posting.

Sell the two stroke and slap a new four on there. Sweet hull and good deal. You will be all set for the next 20 yrs and save yourself a lot of headaches and gas money?

    clear bait well lid

Thanks. Sorry, I hadn't been on here in a while...been busy fishing. I ordered it from go2marine. It wasn't cheap at $121 with "free" shipping. It has been handy as expected.

    92 Overnighter 204c 200 Yamaha - what mounting hole?

I have a '92 Overnighter. It had a 175 yamaha 2-stroke that was mounted in the top hole (all the way down) when new until I swapped it out last year for a new 175 four stroke. I never paid it much attention and the dealer mounted the new motor in the same holes. After doing some research on...

    clear bait well lid

Re: clear bait well lid (installed 204c) Never a shortage of good ideas on this site and finally had a chance to modify my live bait well lid. I think this is going to work well when cobia fishing using eels and easy to keep an eye on other types of live bait. I just got a piece of cut to...

Time for the washdown and livewell pumps

That "y" diverted valve is painted metal. Be prepared for the paint to flake off in a few years. I got tired of going under the seat and pulling out the bin to switch from washdown to live well. So I just installed a pvc ball valve inside the live well on the end of the fill tube. Works pretty...

    Winter tinkering progress

The ground spice in the bilge is OEM, I found mine on my 1992 like that the other day. Seemed to be holding up and wrapped it up again to seal it off.

    Live well operation/modification

I use a timer with the live well pump, have it cycle off and on anywhere from 2secs to 7 mins. Cheap and easy to install. Also might want to look at a stainless steel spring shock for the lid, work great. Good luck.

    clear bait well lid

Anybody here a beckson dealer? Can't find a seller stateside for the clear hatch and the Canadians want $35 to ship a $90 item. Any help? Going to pick up a 3/4 piece of starboard as well and just cut the center out to replace existing lid and wha-la.

This is a neat idea. I have a 204 also and thinking one of these rectangular hatches might work well. http://www.beckson.com/hatches.html

    Cracks in transom

My 1992 204c overnighter has had cracks in the gelcoat in the corners for as long as I can remember. Kiss a dock piling a little too hard once or twice and there they are. None in the splash well however and just had the transom inspected by by a fiberglass specialist before repowering and it...

    208 adventure-looking into repower options.

I just repowered my 1992 204c with the new Yamaha F175. Only 100lbs heavier than the 175 two stroke that was on it, net about 70 once you remove the oil reservoir. Basically the same motor as the 200. Scuppers are fine and the boat is quick, 46mph at 5600 rpms. Great gas mileage. Will save...

    '92 204c New F175 repower

Re: '92 204c New F175 repower, perform update Had the motor moved up one hole. So it's moutned in the second from the top now. Dealer says they turned 5800 rpms at 46 mph trimmed up 3/4. I was able to turn 5600, at 45 mph with four passengers, full tank and gear. Want to do a test run with a...

Repair person for hatch lids on 1999 fisherman.

Your local fiberglass guy can do it but still not cheap at about $100/hr. Just go to any local marine dealer/service and they can give you some names. Mine were cracking all along the front from standing and climbing over the transom. About $400 to have both grinded down and built back up with...
