  • The boat is getting closer to what I envisioned when I purchased it. Removed the decals and all the thru hull fittings and sanded and painted the above water part of the boat. Ended up plugging the thru hull fittings that went to the live wells. Rewiring is almost done. Very excited about finishing this.
I am designing a new wiring harness and had some questions about:
    1. What alarms people think are necessary.
    2. What type of spotlights they find helpful.
    3. Good preventive maintenance on 1998 Yamaha 200hp Saltwater 2 stroke motor.
Just about to pull all the wires out and rewire. I am adding 2 electric down-riggers and spotlights (I like to go out 1-2 hours before sunrise and don't like to run blind)

This Grady White is my second boat. My first was a 17ft Bayliner Capri. That boat I cut all the seats off to have more deck fishing space. The boat looked like floating crap but as an engineer I made it strong. But the transom was rotting and I wanted a bigger boat that was for fishing. Just bought a 1986 Grady White Seafarer 226 and working on fixing it.
