Hi,
I looked at a 1991 Seafarer last night to purchase. Going for a test ride tomorrow. Is there anything in particular that I need to check out with this particular model? It has a 2008 Evinrude 250HP motor on it. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I would check the transom and the hard top for water intrusion. I purchased a 228 and inspected a lot before making my purchase. One of the things I checked was the mounting bolts for the bracket. Some boats they were crushed into the transom. It looked like the previous owners tightened them to cover up a failing transom.

Check the gas tank. Hopefully it's been replaced by now. If not, maybe it's a fresh water boat. Otherwise, it may be time for a new tank. My sender had corrosion between it and the tank. Check that. If corrosion is there, it can create a space for gas to leak.

I'll assume the 250 is a 2 stroke. Otherwise, it's probably heavy for that year Grady.

Is it a 228 or 226?

I'd check the electrical connections under the dash and switches. Soft spots in floor?

Good boat, I second the coments above.
Soft floors aren't a dealbreaker but leverage to negotiate a better price.
