Hello everyone I have a 1987 Gulfstream 232 . I bought this Grady it had the original engine 5.7 260 hp merc. In 2014 I had to repower. Bought a 2014 GM marine 5.7 vortex engine rated at 314 hp great engine. My prop size is 14.5 x 17 . With this prop I only get 3300 rpm @ WOT I should be @ 4800 ? Everyone tells me my prop size is too large. If anyone has a Grady of this configuration what prop size are you running would love to experiment with props but no one in my area have an exchange program
Thanks

Using the general rule of thumb, reducing the pitch by 2 inches would increase the revs by 400. That would still be out of spec. Are you sure all cylinders are firing?

You guys are replying to a 2.5 year old question.
I can't remember what I did 15 minutes ago. Am I supposed to remember 2 1/2 years ago?
:)
I should look back and see if I said the same thing.
