Yeah the boat is awesome. Perfect size for trailing and for fishing. I'm looking into the oil now.

A set of Lee outriggers came with my boat so I set those up we had five lines out all day and never got a bite. At wide open ratio could be 40:1 but at idle it could be 100:1. Regardless your oil burn seems way too high. In most of these cases, the problem is that the oil pump linkage is not adjusted correctly or the linkage has broken or come loose in which case the spring moves the linkage to the highest oil feed rate. At that oil rate at trolling speeds I would expect smore exhaust smoke than normal. In addition, if that oil rate keeps up, after some time, your plugs may start to foul.
So if you have a Yami SX motor, take a look at the oil pump linkage.
It is also possible but not nearly as common for the oil to leak out. Look in the bottom of the lower cowling for oil and look at the main (on the motor) oil tank for oil on the outside or fittings/hoses.

So the stop was about a half inch from the stop. I only have enough adjustments to bring it to about 1/4" from the stop. I could try and bend the rod to close that 1/4"

Lures were on the surface or just under. Water temperature was mostly 64 to 65 but went up to almost 68. I'm going again Monday

Maybe try a little deeper and stagger them if you can at different depths . How deep of water were you trolling in ?

It was very deep 500' plus.
Speed was 7 to 10 mph
I don't know how to get these deep?

Speed sounds good 6to10. Don’t you have downriggers ? Try a deep six.

Yeah I have D/R but I took them off before this trip. Honestly it would be to much, Between 2 outriggers five rods I'm not ready to add D/R in to the mix. I have read a lot and talked to a lot of experienced tuna fishing friends and nobody has suggested fishing anything but the surface?

I tried downriggers with 12lb balls at tuna speeds and it is not good. I found planers are more workable to get lures down.

got to get to the fish when they are deep, most lures will only dive to 50'. slow the speed drop down on your planer and try to get to the fish. learning to fish is an eternal thing. experiment . you never know what might just work.

also ..check your seas for monday. ive seen some small craft advisories most of this week

So I asked about using D/R's on my fishing club here's the first response

Trolling with traditional dr weights at 6-8knts is not practical and puts a tremendous amount of strain on the line.
You would have to use the wing thingy to troll at those speeds using DR’s.
I was always under the assumption the boats wake and bubble trail is what causes the albies to rise thinking your spread is part of a bait feeding event of some sort...
