Sorry to say it's been a while since my original donation. I've received so much info here. Maybe a yearly reminder would be a good idea? Thanks for the great website! :goodjob Donation sent.

    Overboard drains

If I recall it didn't cost much to have that done, but I had the boat in for something else at the time so it wasn't a hassle to add that to the job. I didn't remove the carpet, I don't spend much time in there :D

    Overboard drains

Congratulations on getting most of those changed! I did all mine also when I got the boat, but I couldnt see any way to reach that one either, so i took it to a boat fiberglass shop and had him cut out an area about 6"x6" around the drain, remove the old hose, put on a new one, then repair the...

1989 Sailfish anyone know how to remove fresh water tank??

Re: 1989 Sailfish anyone know how to remove fresh water tank Never did actually see the "offending screw", I figure it came in through the forward wall of the fuel tank coffin. Tank fits so tight in there I'm not going to worry about it sliding, although I suppose it could slide forward an inch...

1989 Sailfish anyone know how to remove fresh water tank??

Re: 1989 Sailfish anyone know how to remove fresh water tank Well, if anyone needs to know, I got the tank out by removing the panel that the steps into the cabin are mounted to. Looks like Grady put a screw into the aft wall of the tank to stabilize it and the screw came out/ tank shifted...

wireless autotether setup for twin outboards

Same with the inflatable life jacket, wear it pretty much all the time when I'm out at night alone. I don't have a spot, your post got me thinking I should buy a plb. I'll start looking for one now. Anyone recommend a particular one? I do have an EPIRB already, but wouldn't be much good on the...

Battery question for '98 Islander 268

Lets get started - more information needed. How many motors and what kind? How old are your batteries? Do you have a meter to test their voltage? Needing to switch to both batteries to start engine could mean a starting battery is getting weak- or maybe it wasn't the correct size when...

On my 2002 hpdi the telltale water goes through the voltage regulator. It needed cleaning too as it can get clogged. That might be an issue.

1989 Sailfish anyone know how to remove fresh water tank??

Re: 1989 Sailfish anyone know how to remove fresh water tank Thanks for the reply. I'm not in a cold climate and the tank just started leaking this year. I too removed the access panel to get to the hoses on the bait well, and don't believe it can be removed that way. I do have the access plate...

1989 Sailfish anyone know how to remove fresh water tank??

1989 Sailfish 252G. Fresh water tank is leaking about half it's water, draining into the bilge. It doesn't look like it is a hose, as far as I can see. I think it must be cracked, or maybe a screw or something rubbed a hole in it. I have removed the access panel between the live well and "Aft...
