New trailer has odd tire wear?

Usually, excessive wear on both outer edges is a symptom of low tire pressure.

    2023 Dockage Rates

One surprise may be when you find out that some marinas price by the actual total overall length of the vessel including pulpits, tilted up engines, brackets etc. and not the registration length. The cost can be significantly increased.

    Boarded by the CG

In my case, they didn't ask about it at all. It was locked however:)

    Battery charger

The fog would have little effect on bilge water. In addition regarding rain, that hull is usually pretty dry in the bilge area. If your bilge pump is frequently running you probably have some sort of leak. I think you are trying to fix a problem you may not have. If you have dual batteries, one...

    Can I use a F350hp on my Islander ?

Are you looking at a new 350 or an older model year? I ask because I would be very leery about earlier model year 350s. Many had some serious issues. I would prefer twin engines for better handling. That said, it seems to me that you are on a budget with your engine options. 350s are less...

    Boarded by the CG

I was boarded at the end of last season. Pretty much the same questions with the addition of asking if I had Boater Safety Certificate proof which I did. Then they asked about PFDs, fire extinguishers. visible and audible devices. I was given a copy of the inspection report and checklist that I...

    Battery charger

I don't mean to sound cheeky but the best place is close to the batteries:). You may not need a built-in charger though. If you get a good charge when at sea and don't use a lot of power when not motoring, good batteries should maintain a reasonable charge for a fairly long time. On my older 208...

Freedom 225 2014 Engine Bracket Paint

For aluminum hulls, the barrier coat help protect against galvanic corrosion. I would recommend a barrier coat for aluminum applications just not gel coat.

Freedom 225 2014 Engine Bracket Paint

That sounds good for fiberglass but I wouldn't go that route for aluminum. Aluminum has a higher temperature expansion factor and gel coat is pretty stiff stuff. In addition, I don't see a need for barrier coat. That prevents moisture from penetrating fiberglass but I don't think it helps for...

Freedom 225 2014 Engine Bracket Paint

The biggest mistake you can make is to apply in direct hot sunlight. Follow the instructions. Also it is usually best to apply a dab of polish to the polisher bonnet and spread it around a bit as opposed to dabbing polish on the fiberglass first.

Freedom 225 2014 Engine Bracket Paint

Glad it looks good but will it hold up? To a great extent that depends on how well the primer bonded to the bare aluminum. The typical approach is to apply an etching primer made for aluminum. I am not familiar with the Samauri product but it looks interesting and it says is is appropriate for...

Home Depot has 316 stainless steel hardware

There is a lot of sub standard "316" hardware out there. During the Covid interruption in the supply chain, a lot of poor quality fittings were produced. Other than branded known name reliable vendors, I don't know how to identify the inferior hardware. Country of origin may be a factor:)

    Deck drain 1999 Adventure 208

Unfortunately often it is necessary to cut an opening and install a deck (pie) plate after the plumbing is done. I am not that familiar with your hull to make that determination

    Deck drain 1999 Adventure 208

You need to know if the fitting is barbed at the hose side and the diameter (inside) of the hose. From there just search for a Marelon mushroom thru hull similar to this one https://www.marineengine.com/boat-accessories/plumbing/906028

    Seat Bushing?

There are a zillion possibilities if you are referring the the slide bushing. Knowing the make/model and year of the seat along with a photo of the area in question will help. If you are referring to the cylindrical bushing that isolates the joint where the seat slider mechanism slides down onto...

    Armstrong Bracket

I am not sure why some (:)) say that addng a bracket will always improve performance. Maybe I am missing something. The bracket can add floatation which can help compensate for the extra motor weight. It does that by increasing the wetted surface area, the parts of the hull that are in contact...

Ultra light weight summer boat cover?

The ones I looked at were in the 300 to 400 dollar range. I just picked the web site I mentioned at random. There are lots of 'generic' covers out there. It all depends on how tight and pretty you want it to look.
