    Yamalube 2M 2 cycle oil

Hi Dennis, not sure about the OX66's, but for the HPDI's, the only side affect I know of is low idle on cold startup. Usually they should fire up to 600 or 700 rpms once started. They also when started will have a quick short rev up and settle the the 600/700 rpm idle. When O2 is carboned up...

    Yamalube 2M 2 cycle oil

Hi Dennis, I should have mentioned. I use ring free plus and startron religiously. HPDI’s are just notorious for O2 carbon buildup.

    Yamalube 2M 2 cycle oil

Thanks Seasick for the kind words! Definately enjoying the retirement phase! Just for kicks, I pulled the 1 gallon jug of emergency 2 stroke oil out of the cabin. It is one of the last gallons of Pennzoil that I used to use which is Semi synthetic. Not for sure how old it is, but looks like...

    Yamalube 2M 2 cycle oil

Hi Seasick, many posts about the carbon issues over the years. Oil pump linkages are correct. Even saving a lot of oil since I finally got them right. The O2 sensor issue is inherent with 2 strokes overall being a pita. HPDI's especially. I have never used a filter funnel over the years as new...

    Yamalube 2M 2 cycle oil

Timcan, after a lot of trials with oil each season, it seems the yamalube had less carbon buildup in the O2 sensor chamber. But, in the end, still has enough carbon to warrant cleaning every 100 hours or sooner if startup idle starts to suffer. I prefer the Amsoil over all oils due to its...

    Yamalube 2M 2 cycle oil

Thanks for the intel about this. Been boating for over 50 years and never heard of oil going bad like this. Learn something new! Not to mention losing over $300 in the old oil. Amsoil on the way. Might need to pull the floor and clean the remote tanks and change their filters. That will be fun!

    Yamalube 2M 2 cycle oil

This is all new out of the bottle as I am refilling the remote tanks. I usually have to add 1 gallon to each tank after each offshore trip.

    Yamalube 2M 2 cycle oil

Unable to return as I got it online from Domo. I used the pennzoil for a few years and had a lot of carbon fouling the O2 sensor. Less with the Amsoil, but it was not as good as the yamalube regarding the carbon issue. I will just know to service the 02 sensor every season, approx 100 hrs. I...

    Yamalube 2M 2 cycle oil

Has anyone had experience with the oil deteriorating? Not sure what to call it really. Just noticed as I was pouring it into the oil tank, there were some lumps in it. I stopped and got a funnel with a screen filter. It clogged up immediately. Upon more investigation, the oil has a lot of what...

New Grady owner ( couple questions)

Welcome! For number 1, you can find some photos of other 232's for sale and find some pics of the folding bed. Others might chime in here that know more about it. Number 2: Forward bilge. On my 252, in the floor in the cabin is a round popout. The bilge pump and float switch is located in...

    Bimini help

My former boat had the rigid poles in the back and was easy to fold back and put the boot cover on. When I wanted to lay it down, it had the quick release pins on the back poles and it would then lay down on the gunnels.

265 not so fresh water tank

We actually get a lot of use from the freshwater tank. Fishing 50 miles offshore with 100 degrees, it is nice to go down in the cabin, clean the salt and oils off glasses and sunglasses, rinse face/dowse head and towel dry. Now feel like 100% again! ;) We also use it to rinse off all the reels...

    Replacement for Oil Reservoir Brackets

I sandblasted mine last season and repainted. If they rust again, I will replace with same as I do with my house batteries. I use PVC board. Cut into strips and surround the battery base, screw to floor with SS screws. I install SS all thread rod, bent to hook into a SS Eye hook. I then use...

What do people use to store stuff that can rust?

I use a dry bag and it works with no problems so far. For smaller stuff, I put in those plastic trays that close and put in the cabin in the storage box. No issues there either. You can also use vacuum bags, but over time, they lose seal, but really don't get enough salt air or humidity to harm...

200 HPDI Yamaha Two Stroke Gas

X2 what Dennis and Skunkboat said. I do the same. 87 ethanol fuel with Startron and Ring Free, no issues. I have tried the non ethanol to compare and could not see any difference in performance or mileage. Why pay the higher price? The HPDI does very well with the non ethanol as long as you use...

    Ceramic coating?

I switched over from the synthetic and normal waxes to ceramic last year. The difference is night and day. The ceramic was easy to apply, not real expensive. Only some of the topsides where a lot of exposure needs to be re-polished, prepped and re-applied to go another season. Working on that...

    Pulpit

It has been a while since I did this work, but like Hookup1 said, just work it with prying slowly and slide in a thin piece of metal if you have something like a long spatula or even a long filet knife (be careful not to cut yourself) to release the caulk. I think I had one spot that released on...
