Condensation dripping on fuel tank fittings

It's not all condensation. The pie plate access ports are leaking. If liquid is discolored it's probably a rotted deck panel (leaking coffee colored water from deck core). Pull the ports out and caulk them in with 3M4000. Then replace the o-rings. Use a good grease on the o-rings. I also put a...

    Transom Construction

We are talking about two different things. The “bang cap” is non-structural trim to seal the top transom edge. The other is the structural aluminum imbedded inside the transom. This runs the width of the transom and includes mounting for the tie down rings. Look at photos in post #3.

Port Engine making clicking sound but not starting

I came back on one engine one time because the engine would click, engage starter and not crank. Was a loose nut on engine cable ground (not that loose!).

    Transom Construction

Transom laminates design from GW. I'm planning to do the transom on my 1997 Islander next year. It will be double 3/4" Coosa board. Done from the inside. I'll open a new thread next year when I start.

    Raymarine E120 fix or replace

None of the manufacturers go out of their way to support really old units. It's easy for me to spend your money - it's time for an upgrade if you are a serious fisherman. I'm all Garmin. Consider the following: GPSMAP 1243xsv (includes sounder may use current transducer). GMR 18/24 Fantom...

Port Engine making clicking sound but not starting

Slow down. Are we to assume that this all worked properly yesterday? If the port side just clicks make sure your engine battery terminals are tightened down. Don't guess - crank on them. What does this mean? "I have two new batteries although I think one is bad". So it sounds like the...

    Time for an electronic upgrade

I didn't want to block my view out the windshield. I raised the front panel 3/4" over the existing electronics box. Had to hack the box inside to get it to fit.

    new tanks

One large aluminum tank would have to be shortened to "drop in". With two tanks I would keep fuel valves the same. It's just a little more hose. You can see what happed to your old neoprene adhered with self-stick adhesive. Fell off, moved around and trapped moisture between strips and tank...

    new tanks

As Dennis said there is a bulkhead between the forward and aft tank that has to be removed. May have to cut the step to get it out. Look at my 268 Islander tank replacement project post. Islander is a narrow beam Sailfish. https://www.greatgrady.com/threads/268-islander-fuel-tank-replacement.36637/

    Transom Construction

My 1997 Islander has the aluminum U-channel in the transom. Not visible from inside the hull. The other photo is someone else boat 2022 Freedom 275. You can ask GW Customer Service.

how to repair separation of toe kick?

That material has a self-adhesive backing and white plastic "rivets". It shrinks and doesn't like bends. You should see what it looks like on my 1997 Islander! It doesn't really seal anything. It's a cosmetic trim strip. Since it is a new boat I would talk to the dealer. You can caulk the...

    Boat Slips Backwards

Look at bow eye position and windlass angle.

    Boat Slips Backwards

Likely some angle of pull of the winch. Sounds like angle too low pulling the boat down. Should be at least level on the trailer maybe a little higher. Zoom in on this photo to see bow eye and windlass angle.

Topping Up Bennett Trim Tab Oil

I have a square cover held on by a single screw on top. Looks like yours is missing. I think you are looking at the front of the unit. See if that black hose on the left comes out (and where does it go?). I think that is your fill. Should be able to pull that hose, stick a screwdriver in it and...

Fill is on your "blind side" of the pump. It's a black plug cap. If you have a camera use it. Look at post#7 above.

    Missing trim tab 282 Sailfish

Well it helps to know where you are if you are wishing for a camera. You could always borrow a GoPro. It's almost certainly a Bennett trim tab. Cylinder may be ok (broken tab hinge). Your boat should have a full hull and tab should be out the back of the boat. Check size in the water. Mounting...

    motors down for winter storage?

If you really got all the water out before trimming up you should be ok. I like to finish up with 1/2 gallon of pink antifreeze pumped thru with them up. Then trim down to drain. I usually leave them down until I head to FL in January. Either way - up or down you will be fine.
