FREE some sort of window trim/gasket

Got this stuff a number of years ago when resealing the cabin windows in my old 25' Sailfish. I think they are the pieces that the sliding portion of the windows ride in. I've got two sections of it...each about 5' long. FREE but you gotta pay for the ride.

    OEM bimini for Grady 180

Have an OEM 4-bow stainless bimini off of a Grady 180 (late '90s model I believe). Was originally purchased for my Mako 17 project but I sold that boat before I ever finished it. The guy I bought the top from said it had never been used...and it has stayed that way since I bought it. Been...

    Opinions: 2000 Adventure 208 vs. 1993 Explorer 245

Back in the market after selling my little Maycraft CC earlier this year. I'm looking for something descent in the 20 to 24 range that I can use mostly for fishing the Chesapeake Bay, but also for day drips with the family (wife, teenage daughter or daughters and 9 yr old son) and an occasion...

You guys are going to think I'm crazy for doing this, but I've bought another project. :bang Since my kids are always asking if they can help me when I'm working on my Mako or Grady projects...and I don't let them because I'm super particular about how things are done...I picked up this...

1986 Seafarer 228 control cable length?

Anyone know the length of the throttle/shift control cables for the 1986 Seafarer 228? I got a set of nearly new 22' Teleflex cable with the 225 Merc I bought and was wondering if they will be reusable after I do the bracket conversion on my 227. Thanks.

    Seafarer deck plates

Anyone ever replaced these 4" deckplates with 6" ones? As it sits, there isn't enough room to get a 6" one in there. But, if I were to notch the teak trim it could be done. My only real concern is any water running down the walkaround would dump all over a 6", whereas a 4" is mostly...

    Upgrade to 8" deckplates?

Was thinking about ordering replacements deckplates for my 227 yesterday and then remembered that I have 5 brand new 8" ivory ones sitting in the basement. I incorrectly ordered those for my old Sailfish like 5 years ago....measured the wrong part of the existing deckplates... :-| Anyway...

Replacing Seafarer 227 fish box drains?

Ran into another issue with the new 227 last night. As I was pulling out the last of the original thru-hulls, I noticed that the drain in the port side fishbox has broken and is missing about half of the flange. So, that has to be replaced as well. Only problem is there is absolutely no way...

Planning for the future: bilge pump sizes?

One of the things I need to address on my 227 are several original thru-hulls. The previous owner had all but the ones for the forward bilge pump, aft bilge pump and port helm drain replaced w/in the past few years, so I'm only addressing these three now. The sizes of the current ones are 3/4"...

Pic request: 22x roller trailer setup

I started setting up the "new" trailer for my 227 last night. First, I moved the rear cross member back to effectively lenghten the trailer to accomodate the 22' hull (it had a 21' Parker on it before). Then I got to looking at the forward roller arrangement. It looks like the previous owner...

    1986 Seafarer 227: 5/6/14 Update - Stringer extension prep

I didn't title this thread 1986 Seafarer 227 Project simply because I told my wife I wouldn't buy another "project"... Anyway, I started digging into my newly acquired rig yesterday. All I really wanted to accomplish on the first day of work was to get the tank out. So, the cover...

    I'm baaaack...

Picked up an '86 Seafarer 227 earlier today. 2 owner boat (before me), 190 HP Mercruiser 4-cyl, marina maintained. Fuel tank is shot and tank hatch needs to be recored, but I think I got it for a good price. The name is pretty ironic given that I was looking for something cheap so I...

    Deck hatch screws: '86 227

I'm going to check out an '86 227 this weekend that sprung a fuel tank leak at the end of last summer. The shop that services the boat removed the deck hatch to check the tank, but repair efforts never took place and the tank hatch was put back down and not resealed. My main concern with this...

WA, CC or DC for family/fishing use?

The admiral and I are starting to look at our options for a multi-purpose rig in the 21' to 24' range. Primary uses will be general cruising around, tubing, anchoring for swimming and fishing the Chesapeake Bay. With these activities in mind we are trying to decide which layout would be best...

    '76 Formula 233 project: De-powered

Decided to start a new thread to document my Formula project. Here's how it all began: viewtopic.php?t=14217 Now for the good stuff... Before I could really do much with the gas tank hatch or fuel lines, I decided I had better tarp the darn thing to keep it from getting any more...

New to me: '76 Formula 233

My original plan was to spend the next year or two paying off bills and working on my Mako 17 and then find a nice Mako 228 to pick up. Well, that didn't really work out as planned... Since selling my Sailfish in January, I have been itching to get back on the water. Yes, it's nice to just...

Twin 130s on an '87 Gulfstream?

A friend of mine is currently looking at an '87 Gulfstream with a single 225 mounted on a twin engine bracket. The engine has low compression so he is considering installing a pair of early 90s 130 Yamahas (that he already owns) if he picks up the boat. However, he is concerned that the twin...

1989 Gulfstream bracket and shaft length questions

Anyone know if anything special (outside of drilling new mounting holes) would need to install a single engine on the twin engine bracket of a 1989 Gulfstream? 30" shaft would be required I assume... Thanks.

    Setting toe-in?

Anyone know what the toe-in measurement should be for a pair of Yamaha 200s on a Sailfish 252G? Also, how do you go about setting that? Compare measurements between the prop shafts and tiller arms? Thanks.
