    Custom tackle boxes in gunnel?

Eh, "in for a dime.." I am looking at how best to make use of that space. Since the top and sidnes hold almost all I need, closing the areas off all together and just adding an access plate to each area will streamline it, simplify it, and keep it all clean and organized. Will just take time...

    EPIRB's

I hate the idea of using my "boat budget" to get something I may never use. Everyone will say it is the single most essential thing you must get before you would ever go offshore. So many people on other forums just flat out, unintentionally, make you feel so guilty for not getting one... but it...

Would anyone be interested in having starboard work done?

I wish I had a dang companion seat... hate the dual captain's seats. @jbrinch - I sent you an email with a 6mb video of what I was looking for. Let give me a call if interested, please. Thanks! Russ

    Custom tackle boxes in gunnel?

All very good options. What I am thinking of is how best to use this space here. I find myself, currently, going, “eh....guess I could just put that here...” and it stores a boat hook, which is collapsable so could go anywhere but I put that down there simply to use that area heh...the gaff goes...

    Custom tackle boxes in gunnel?

So, one of the biggest issues I deal with is having a place for tackle. One thing I noticed is I really do not use the gunnel storage. I use one side, but not the other, since I have so many rod places. To that end, if I took out the rod storage "hooks" on one side, I was thinking I could have a...

    Our first trip out

Yea, he just had too much fun catching them so.. heh... we let him ;) Luckily....the other guy took almost all of them. We used them as fertilizer :P R

My boat is at that age

I have an extra 4amp red Klaxon.... was hard as hell to find one. I needed a 10, so grabbed the 4 when I saw it and also a 10... annoyingly hard to locate.

    Heading to the coast - take .. 328,608 ;)

lol! I saw that after I uploaded it. Not sure what the heck happened there, maybe exposure.. a bounce for sure.. was a bit bumpy ride :p Well, I say bumpy but.. not in the real sense... the water was really beautifully calm, but we had her doing about 4900 rpm and were messing with the trim...

    Heading to the coast - take .. 328,608 ;)

Oh lord.... sooo many lessons learned, all good... heh I like my decks cleared of "stuff"... and on my bass boats, heck.. even my bay boats... there was always SO much storage.. but it amazes me how fast storage goes away when you go offshore! lol It does not help when you look around and go...

    Our first trip out

Exactly my next thing to look at. I want to have it rebuilt no matter what, but I am like you are saying.. would rather resolve the real issue, rather than hope a rebuild fixes it. What I know is the one engine that had the most issues, was not replace. Somehow, one of the last owners had to...

    Our first trip out

Thanks, yes...it was good to see that it was working as intended. There are still issues, but I know what and how to tackle those now. My “hit list” is: 1 - Throttle cables. I did.not mess with them before this weekend as I did not want to break anything else before we were able to go out lol...

    Our first trip out

Well, we made it back in one piece! We learned a lot about the boat and have quite a bit of fun to talk about heh, but overall, this was a smashing success. First off, we did not catch any snapper, but we caught a lot of Porgies (we think that is what they are lol)...and my son had a blast...

    Heading to the coast - take .. 328,608 ;)

So, all cleaned up and ready to go. Heading out tomorrow. Should be in Port Aransas, TX around 1pm-ish tomorrow. May do some bay fishing that afternoon, but Sunday is looking awesome for a little further out. Fausto, Mr. 28 Marlin (I call him that.. heh....owns a 90-something 28 Marlin), will...

    Safe cabin heater?

Very nice. Need one for tomorrow.. heh.. but that is like the West Marine one, but less expensive ;) I should have gotten that, but my guests kept procrastinating boat or hotel... so I finally decided to stay on the boat ;) I have a heater, but it is thin and tall, too "tippy" for me for a...

    Safe cabin heater?

I had one of those for the hunting cabin, was just thinking an electric one might be safer, but.. may need one of those. The installed one will work when I get it, heh.. but for this weekend, could use one that I can take other places afterwards. I just worry about propane in enclosed places...

    Safe cabin heater?

Hey guys, I do not have the a/c yet.. heh.. so, curious what you guys use for a small heater in the cabin. I was thinking to stick with electric, since propane in an enclosed space worries me :P Not sure how small/large it would need to be to keep it comfortable. Also want it safe.. so... do...
