Cabin port gaskets (both sides) on Gulfstream

Both windows/ports leak into the cabin when sprayed. They are Bomar/Pompanette models. They have 3 'dogs' that, when closed, keep pressure on the gasket on the glass. The gasket is probably original and 20+ years old (and has lost its elasticity). GW tried to find a source, but with no luck...

2004 GW Gulfstream Outrigger Mod (or deletion)

Hi folks, I am contemplating to remove the cabin side mounted sidewinder/wishbow outriggers. I use them periodically, but not that often. The poles themselves are of need for repair. I think removing them would allow me to get from the cockpit to the bow with more space and less things to go...

    2004 Gulfstream port-aft window leak

It seems my port-aft window leaks after washdown or rain. I feel that it is the gasket where the 'glass' contacts it. The window is openable. I'd like to find the gasket and replace it, before I consider resetting the window in the hull. Any idea what it is? I will call Grady at some point...

Used Yamaha Model 704 Twin Binnacle and Guages

I recently replaced the Yamaha twin 704 binnacle and guages on my boat. (2) tachs, a fuel management guage, and speed/battery guage. Everything was working when it was taken out. Contact Len ljp3lcf@gmail.com if interested. $300 for all.

    Yamaha 704 twin binnacle, Guages

I recently replaced the Yamaha twin 704 binnacle and guages. Instead of trashing them, thought I'd see if anyone is interested. The guages work, and the two shifters work as well. I replaced it along with the rigging warness underfloor from engines. I had a gremlin that was popping the...

    2019 Yamaha 200HP Blows Main/PTT 20amp fuse intermittently

I have two 2019 Yamaha 200HP (inline 4) motors on my 2004 GW Gulfstream. It has about 120 hours. During last year's season, it has developed an annoying issue to blow the Main/PTT 20amp fuse intermittently. When is blows, the engine shuts down and the guage on the dash does as well. It is the...

    Electronic Upgrade?

I am considering an upgrade of my electronics on my Gulfstream. It is currently a vintage Furuno GPS, Fishfinder unit with separate display for radar. All 2004 units. I recently had Furuno replace the built in battery for the GPS/Fishfinder. I like Furuno, I have had a newer (2011)...

Cavitation Plate location relative to hull

I was looking at the location of the cavitation plates on the (2) 200hp outboards on my Gulfstream. I am wondering where the cavitation plates should be relative to the hull. In other words, should the cavitation plates be above or below the hull when motors trimmed down. The outboards are...

    Yamaha shutdown while underway

Yesterday I was underway when the port motor just shutdown. I have a 2003 Gulfstream with two 2019 Yamaha F200's with 70 hours on. New start switches and gauges were installed when repower was done in 2019. Batteries were 12.8V on the 2 banks. I tried to restart the motor, noticed the port gauge...

    NOCO Battery Jump Starter?

I am interested in a NOCO battery jump starter to keep in the boat in case I run the batteries down. It seems like it should work to start a 2019 Yamaha 200hp 4S but I have no experience using these type of starters. I am also interested in one for my Ford Excursion diesel, but that is a...

    Calk at outboard bracket/hull interface

What is the best calk to use at outboard bracket/hull interface? I plan to use a church key to 'scrape' the old off, install new, and touch up the ablative bottom paint. Thanks in advance.

    Anchor Line

Happy New Year! I currently have 1/2" 3-strand nylon as anchor line. It twists easily in my anchor locker to the point where it tangles as it comes into the windless (from locker to windless). I am wondering if going to 8-plait line would minimize this problem. Is there any 'con' to going to...

Dream to retire with my boat and fish....

I'm a little way off to retirement, but I'm starting to dream. I live in Southern California, a 1+ hour to get to the ocean. I like my boat and I love being on the water. If you had a choice to live in a great fishing location in the USA, where would you go? I'm thinking Florida (Atlantic or...

    Deck crack with rust?

I have a 2004 GW Gulfstream 232. I noticed a small (1"-2" long) crack on the starboard side of the cockpit. It has rust on it. I am trying to figure out why there is metal on/near/in the small crack. I am going to scrape out the crack to see if there is anything lodged in it, but seems like...

    On Board Battery Charger Location

Looking at the WM deal on the Promariner 2-bank on board battery charger. I have a 2004 GW Gulfstream 232 and wondering the best location to install that sort of battery charger. I have a starting battery, one on each for the motor. Any ideas? TIA Len

GW Gulfstream 232 Transom Ladder Mod?

Hello all, I am waiting for summer and for our country to get back to normal (or at least more normal). One of the mods I am considering to change the transom ladder on my 2004 Gulfstream 232 with twin 200 hp Yamaha's. I find it difficult to climb into the boat via transom. The ladder is on...

04 Yamaha F200 with bent crank

Bent crank on the starboard F200 on my 04 GW Gulfstream 232. Bummer! Anyone running the I4 Yamaha F200? Considering a repower but 4 cylinders and 200 hp don't go together in my mind. GW says it works. Rebuild with reman parts is in the $10-14k range. Any thoughts?

    2004 GW Gulfstream 232 w/ twin Yamaha F200's - what prop?

Long time lurker, infrequent poster.... I have a 2004 GW Gulfstream 232 with twin Yamaha F200's that I bought earlier this year. I have only been able to make 5300rpm which is bottom of recommended range. It has a hard top and bottom paint. The stainless steel props are marked 19M which I...

    Bow access ladder from trailer?

Any ideas on adding a step or ladder to access a 23' GW Gulfstream from bow on trailer for launching solo? When I launch my 20' Adventure I have a small platform on trailer to step up from. Not sure it will work with new boat with bow pulpit.
