The admiral wants to have a canvas enclosure fabricated for the stern of our 282. She wants to be able to sleep a couple of people up on deck. Has anyone done this or has anyone seen this kind of setup before. Any and all info would be appreciated.

My admiral wants to have a canvas enclosure also on her sailfish too. What we use now is a air mattress and a two man dome tent. But at one time our boat had a back cover, I looked at the ones in Carbels ,it wouldn't be that hard to add sides and made it easy to fold down when fishing. if you do get one sent some pic.

This is common.

When you go to your canvas guy, he will be expected to show you a binder of photographs of enclosures he has made. Shop around. There may be some canvas guys with websites and photos for you to browse.

Is the enclosure only for sleeping, but for sun shelter too ?
Rainproof ?
Do you want windows, where?
How much headroom do you want for standing ? Be sure to discuss.
Take off or leave on boat when folded up?

These are some of the questions you will be asked.
