The original a/c was located under the aft berth, behind the stairs. There's a floor panel in that berth where the unit sat. You're pickup should be in the aft bilge port side if I'm not mistaken and the pump out would be in the forward bilge port side (directly opposite of the toilet pick up). Even if your boat didn't originally have this from factory, there's a good chance these pick-ups are already in place. FYI if you local to me NYC I have an original a/c unit I'm looking to get rid of for very cheap.

Hey yeh I did same install on my 98 272 with marineaire 6000btu , I used the thru hull fitting for water for the toilet and switched it to fresh water from tank . Mounted pump and strainer under stbd side mid berth , it must be below water level , also that water pickup wont work while your're underway , but works fine at dock or on the hook . Its kinda tight under the steps to helm but will work there . I put a vent in the middle step to cabin and one in the bathroom. Return vent filter mounted on rear wall of mid berth connected to ac/heat unit. Drain tube from pan goes into the shower sump. There is plenty of room for ducting on both sides and under midberth floor, I had to make a splitter for ductwork that goes on top of unit and sends air both directions , if i remember correctly I bought it from lowes, 4 inch duct tee . Hope this helps , it took me a few weekends from start to finish while doing other upgrades , but well worth it. Good luck C Hook

I have the original a to my 282 sailfish. Here are a couple of pictures. It's dusty from storage, but it'll clean up nice.
