I finally got my new to me 2004 265 Express in the water for the first time since I bought it last fall. Great boat!
While the engines (twin F225 with 160 hours) ran great with the starboard engine hitting 6000 RPM, port engine maxed out around 4600 RPM. I also noticed the port engine needs more throttle to acheive the same RPM as the stbd above 3000 RPM up to the max. Both run very smoothly.
The engines were checked thoroughly before I bought the boat with perfect compression. I put on new Racor water seaparating filters. The props look like new, so I don't think it's a spun hub.
I wonder if it's an internal filter that's plugged? Possibly a bad spark plug? Any thoughts?
