Got the hatch cover off, the cross braces unscrewed, and the wedges loose .. except for the two on the stern end (it's an older 225 with the main in the forward compartment). I'm guessing the rear wedges are screwed from the aux tank hatch space, but I'd like to confirm. Anyone who's done it? :?

Looks as if the tank will come out without too much grinding of the lip ...

Be SURE that you have neutralized any gas fumes.........

Not that you haven't, but there are just too many stories of accidents out there.

Sorry, can't help you with how wedges are ecured on your model.

Curm, That's the way they were in my '81, screwed in from the other side. I also had to cut off a bit of "lip", but it was no problem. When you get your new tank made, keep in mind "standard dimensions". I saved a lot of money by reducing the length of my new tank from 62 to 60 inches. Evidently, the aluminum stock comes in 60 inch widths. Cost me 5 gallons, but saved $$.
