There were quite a few changes in 06. The main ones I recall were the new style transum fish box on the 06, the new style pulpit on the 06, a helm change on the 06 and some changes in the cabin.

The beam did not change. I personaly do not like the change made to 05 -07 models with the transom bench seat being replace with a fold away one. There were also some changes to the cabin layout with the head

Looks like there are a lot of "head options" for the 232. It it a simple matter of getting what you pay for or is there a choice that works better that the rest? Is there a "must have" choice? I have had a 36' Shannon Voyager in the past with a fancy Vacuflush head but would not have another as they are very high maintainence. Right now I have a 26' Duffey lobster yacht with a manual flush head.

What kind of high maintainence are you talking about?

They are actually a great machine and run with fresh water so there is no oder. But,If you have had one you would understand. If you have not, a good rule to post on it is "if you have not eaten it don't put it in here"! If you have people aboard who are not careful, you will spend a lot of time un-sticking pumps.

Congratulations! Probably not just luck. You most likley run a good boat and carry thinking passangers. Seriously, after we figured it out the Vacuflush worked fine the last few years we had the boat.

Patch, what were you doing that was causing all of your problems?

It was in a 36' Shannon Voayager trawler that we cruised from Texas to Maine. We took aboard several groups of friends as we went along. Probably people were putting in too much paper and even paper towels that clogged the pumps. The last two or three years we had no problems.

Glad to see someone else did not like the transom bench change... I think it was a disappointing change to an otherwise well designed hull.

Interesting comments about the new cap design. I had a 2001 with the rear bench. Access to the bilge and ability to get a rod around the engines was better with the previous design, but otherwise the huge new fishbox is a big plus. I like the flip down seat as well.

I am sure it would be easier to get to the swim platform with the older design as well. Otherwise I do not know what the objections would be. I like the new helm and cabin layout as well.

I do remember looking at the new design and thinking that adding a transducer or changing a pump would be tough with the limited access.
