Does anyone have suggestions on how to run wires from hard top to helm station that will look neater than just tie wraps down the frame of the hard top, as I would like to run stereo and radar to the console at the steering wheel on my Offshore 24 . I have used the chase inside the tubing for spreader lights but don't know if that's even possible from hard top to lower console any ideas would be greatly appreciated thanks

Do you have pipe work going between the two? My 228 does and we chase all the wire through it.

I'm pretty sure the Grady oem tops all have a pipe from the electronics box to the helm for that purpose. You don't have an electronics box?

If no box, there is usually one leg of a top that is made to allow running wires to the top. Usually the rear stbd side in my experience.
Other pipes tend to be welded without cutting an opening to the other pipe.

There is a pipe on starboard side of helm just for that reason

Another problem I had with my hard top was the cabin was leaking through the bolt holes of the bolts were wearing out the bolt holes from rough water. This is how I fixed the problem. I went with 3/8 in aluminum plate and 5/16 and 3/8 bolts for mounting. 5200 under the mounts. . Never had a drop of water since and hardtop is solid as a rock.

All the hardtop legs should be bedded with 5200 and bolted together. All the enclosure rails too. If not bedded the stress will work the screws and saw the fiberglass.

On my '97 268 Islander there is aluminum tube that goes from the top of the lower box to the side of the upper box. It is not part of the hardtop structure. This isn't the best picture but you can see the tubing coming up on the right side.
