New owner of used 2003 222 Fisherman . In MA, I'm required to submit to the DMV a "pencil tracing" of the Hull number plate. Sounds strange...but this is Massachusetts. Two questions. Where is the hull number plate located and has anyone done a pencil tracing? I assume the "tracing" would be a "rub" of the pencil across paper placed on the number plate. Any info would help. Thanks.

The hull ID should be located outside on the transom, upper starboard corner. It's molded into the hull, and yes, they're asking for a 'rub'. A quality picture wouldn't hurt, either ... :)

The number is on the upper starboard side on the transom. I also have on attathed to the inside transom on the portside that is carved in oak. I do not remeber having to provide a picture or etching when I registered my Grady. I registered it in Fall River. Good Luck.
