I'll pick it up either tomorrow or Friday and try to get some numbers up.

Looking pretty.

I'd like a pair of the DF175s on ours..... :D

But the F150s are SWEET...

I have heard nothing but good things about that Suzuki. Good luck with it. Is that a plate for a kicker motor on the starboard side? Do you plan to keep it on the boat or will you be a true single now?

Looking forward to getting some use out of it. With the increase in performance and fuel economy it might make a trip to the Bahamas more palatable.

The bracket is for a Suzuki 9.9 that I'm doing some maintenance on, no sense getting rid of it since I have it.

That should make an awesome combo!!!

How did you end up handling the hull to cap joint?

Aluminum strip removed and fully glassed over, faired and gelcoated. Now the rest of the hull needs to really be buffed out.

I've been looking at Islanders with a thought to repower with twin F150's.

What's the installed cost on the 300 'zuke? I assume new controls and guage pack?

Yes, definately want to hear performance numbers. REAL curious about fuel flow numbers.

Mine is 1 year old with 186 hours so its not a fair comparison on cost. After deducting the sale of my OX 66 250, the net cost is about $9500.

Cool. What are your numbers?
Are you happy with it?

It's probably been covered before, but can somebody go over pros and cons for the stepped hull and the newer full-length running surface?

I'm looking at a few of the older ones with the stepped hull. They all have OX66's on them. I understand 98 was the first year for EFI? How much did that improve those motors from a clean running/reliability/fuel use standpoint?

I'd love to add a more intelligent response but the title of the thread is "In Progress" I should have the boat no later than early next week and plan to run it for prop testing and a performance report.

Never had carb model OX66 on it as its a 2000 model year boat with the full length running surface

Oh, oh, I'm just confused.
I neglected to note that you started the thread. When you said "mine is a year old with 186 hours" it threw me - I thought you were another poster with an already installed motor. Sorry 'bout that?

You were referring to the motor you got, it's a year old! Okay.

Then you got a helluva deal. Seems to me them things are like $20K.

Yes, we'll wait anxiously for a report! :D

For an apples to apples comparision:

One year old engine $12000
install and rigging $1800
Total $13800
Less outside sale of existing engine $4400
Net $9400

New Engine $16500
Rigging $1500
Install $1500
Total $19500
6.5% tax $1268
Total $20,768
Less Trade $3500 (true I could have sold on my own)
Total $17,268
