We are looking at the backer plates for the front poles of the top.
There seems to be some “cushion” to the cabin roof. We have removed all the screws we can see, but that plastic will not drop down.

In my mind, if I place the backer plates inside the cabin roof, vs under the plastic roof, to me, if we tighten them down, that roof will simply crack.

Can you see the bolts inside the cabin where the front top connects to the boat?

You need to cut holes in the liner. You'll never be able to tighten it up. You can see the cover for mine behind the wiper motor. It sandwiches the fiberglass. 20181002_190513.jpg

We got the liner down and went underneath it then resealed all the edges with 5200 and added better ss screws.
