Hey guys,

Almost “there”....but the only way I am going to be able to pull that reverse solenoid and master cylinder is to cut the brake line. The connection to the solenoid is too stripped and corroded, so it needs to be replaced.

There is enough slack to just cut it vs splice, but I need to find out a link to a video or parts to do it.

The brake line is a flexible Kodiak brake line. Going to try to post a photo.

If need be, I can remove the entire line from the wheel to the tongue, but that would require me to get a longer libe, lol, but may be easier and since these yahoos did not tie it down, probably easier anyway.

Going to call etrailer and see what they have later this morning.

Anyone done this before?

I have done hard lines, but these Kodiak things are pretty proprietary.

Can't you use a standard flaring kit on those? And use a union in the middle to connect them to your existing lines.

I am not sure till I see what the inside of the hose looks like. It is some sort of flexible hose, vs a standard brass/copper/whatever brake line.

Going to call Kodiak or google them now.

Actually....I need to get under the trailer, but I think.. I can order a replacement line of the length needed and fit it in where the red area is at.

Called Kodiak, left a VM.. will measure and get a picture later tonight when I get home.

Replacing is the best move. They use stainless steel, and an inverted flare, for the connection, which is a difficult flare to match. Also, the connection is so short, I don't think that you could cut behind the nut, and have enough room to slide the nut back and fit a flaring tool in front of it. If the replacement line is too long, make a coil or two, that fits inside the i-beam of the frame.
Make sure the other end is removable before you order. Compare the cost of your replacement line to the single axle kit. You may need the spare parts in the kit before you are done.

Yea, agreed. I am just ansy right now because I am not home to check the length and my back was mad at me yesterday from all the work I did lol.. so could not get under the trailer to see the fitting I wanted to reach heh. Once I get home tonight, I will measure it and look online for a replacement line, then, it will/should all go together well ;)

I will look at the single axle kit as well. The line looks to be in good condition, but I have not seen the connector. I plan to disconnect BOTH ends before I order to make sure it will go BACK in lol.

Okay, looks like I need about a 28ft piece of brake line. J1401 1/8 diameter with 3/16 fittings, male on both ends. Finding a lot of 25ft ones, but no 28, so either have to have one made "by-the-foot" or do a 25 and a 3ft. How would you all feel about replacing a single brake line with a coupler that has a 3ft section and a 25ft section?

I decided to go with a new 30’ Kodiak brake line. Will see how that works out. Will loop part of it and tie it down to secure the extra length.
