Anyone found a alternative or way to keep these horns from rusting?

No they ALL suck. No matter how much Stainless is on the outside, the actual horn is magnetic so it is not stainless.
They are all made in the same chinese factory that makes all of the trailer lights.

Mine actually worked today when I was testing! Made it thru one season and a winter!

Thinking of getting an air horn, mount it on the top.

Anyone do the air horn replacement? I've been able to keep these things looking OK... but they are losing their ooomph and will probably be dead in the forseeable future. Would love to know what others have replaced them with.

Can't say I have a problem with mine and I almost never polish it. Sits on a mooring uncovered for almost 6 months every year.

I use Flitz once a year and the horns stay rust-free. But they typically fail after a few years. I gave up and just keep them shiny but use an air horn. Running the Homosassa River on weekends or during scallop season without a reliable horn is dangerous.

I don't get rust but it has failed a couple of times. I just replace and move on. It is a lousy design and doesn't really make much noise if you ask me.
