The Taco rigger bases and 15' outriggers have been hard on my hardtop. Some cracking from the load. My hardtop finish is also aging, breaking down and is chalky. The edges have "potato chipped" off too. Most of my hatches suffer from edge chipping. I'm considering removing the hardtop to have it refinished along with the hatches.

While I'm at it I might as well weld in backing plates for the outriggers. Does anyone have suggestions or photo's of good installations? Factory or aftermarket. Top and underside.

I'll build fiberglass pads on top and bottom for the rigger bases. Considering the GemLux Deluxe bases. Mounting will be further off the edges and welded in plates may not be needed if the rebuilt hardtop is strong enough.
