After I bought my new to me Grady 208 Adventure and getting feedback about my kicker in this forum thought I would share my rare CA tuna run. Was 36 miles off Bragg. Was not hot and heavy but for a first timer I feel accomplished with my skills and Grady.

Hi SDfish
on the West Coast they know how cold they could get And foggy so I have excellent visibility with this pilot house where disability is important because of debris in the water. I had it done in Sonoma County by Hicks marine fabrication they do exceptional work they’re well known in the area and works on majority of the commercial boats and commercial fishing charter fleet

It’s built out of all aluminum and then I had a powder coated and I installed the Windows myself

Also, boats out of Astoria, OR or Ilwaco, WA are scoring big numbers of albacore. I've heard 40-60 fish is not unreasonable. Only limited by ice.

It’s not completely out of driving up to Astoria, OR or ILwaco,Wa seeing what happens down here out of California the next two or three weeks thank you for the Intel.Myself and my crew are looking forward no more than 5 to 7 albacore each for the season to do some canning..

Thank you

Great outing - well done.

Only remaining items are to post pic of your eating the heart and your tuna hat to christen the boat's loss of its tuna virginity.
Hat is a simple make - Cut your Albacore in half behind the long fins, plus guts and gills (save heart), rinse cavity, and plop that head/fin combo right on your head for all to see you glory and heartiness.

I really do not have a good picture here’ here’s the backside of it installed in my Grady 228 2003
And here is the manufacturers website

If you have any other questions I’ll be happy to answer it is an extremely nice seat and pedestal
Definitely saves my back at the end of the trip just one out for tuna approximately 32 miles and back very nice ride it was a calm day also.
