Windlass Installation

HELP: Gulfstream 232 (1989). Want to install a Lewmar Windlass on pulpit, but bow tie down sits where I think windlass should be . Where to mount windlass so rode feeds into rope locker???

When you say "bow tiedown" are you referring to the eye on the stem of the boat? If so, and it is connected with a rod to the cleat on the bow, then that cleat is really a lifting eye. It will have to be moved for the windlass installation (see how I moved mine off centerline) and replaced with a standard cleat. You will have to remove the connecting rod, and make sure the bow eye is still securely mounted to the stem.
