Trolling motor orientation - Fisherman 216

I'm very happy with the way the installation came together. The motor stays out of the way of any passengers riding on the front of the boat. It also does not hang over the boat at all on the starboard side. Including pics for anyone that may find them helpful.

I agree! If you can share installation pics, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm installing a Garmin 75" on my Fisherman 216 today.

Trolling motor orientation - Fisherman 216

I am installing a Garmin 75" trolling motor on my Fisherman 216. I would sure appreciate any opinions about the mock-up I did below that shows how the orientation places the shaft over the anchor locker. This is my planned installation unless I learn of a better way to tackle it. I have...

Lithium battery size for trolling motor

Thanks mikesne. I am going with one 60 Ah lithium. I ordered it last night. You will have a tremendous amount of capacity with 3 batteries of that size!! I don't need nearly that much. Of course, if I need more, I can always add in parallel. Good luck!

Lithium battery size for trolling motor

Thanks for commenting Fishtales. "There are a few very good ones if you spend that money." Are you suggesting that there are a few very good brands? I definitely would prefer to choose a reputable brand to reduce any risk. thanks!

Lithium battery size for trolling motor

No current plan for on-board charging. I think I'll just plug it in to an outlet in my storage unit between trips to charge. Any recommendations as far as that goes?

Lithium battery size for trolling motor

So, I called tech support again. I think they didn't understand before that I was going to be running a Lithium battery. They did say that a 60 Ah lithium battery should be sufficient for anchor lock for 4-6 hours of runtime. Of course, so many factors at play with currents, boat weight, etc...

Lithium battery size for trolling motor

I am installing a 75" Garmin Force Kraken trolling motor on my Fisherman 216. My plan is to go with a 36v lithium battery and I'm trying to determine if I can get away with the 60 Ah vs the 110 Ah battery. The main feature that I will use the trolling motor for is anchoring over reefs while...

Bow mount trolling motor on a fisherman 180

I am following this as I'd like to install on my 2019 Fisherman 216. I'm particularly interested in what you think of the Garmin trolling motor. I'm thinking of buying the same as I would really like the integration with my Garmin MFD. Installing on the 216 may not be as challenging as the...

General question on drilling through transom

I agree! Super pleased with the installation and the functionality of the TurboSwing. It's nice that you can adjust the height too. Any height (other than the very lowest height) works with the Fisherman 216 even with the swim platforms. Used it for hours today to pull my daughter and her...

Great input PointedRose. Thank you. by the way, there is metal. I drilled through no issue but encountered a thin plate of metal.

General question on drilling through transom

Thanks for your reply glacierbaze. I realized that photo is not a good one. It does require a hole to be drilled through the transom. A different view would illustrate better. While this tow bar installs here, it is angled in such a way that it is a good bit higher once installed. The...
