New Design and Forum Software Upgrade

There is definitely a problem with the auto sign on feature. It does not work for me in IE 7 or 8 and it does not work with Safari either. I think I tried firefox as well. I have tried on 5 different computers at different locations in the last week and the same results.

    Groco Maserator Pump: Grady 265

You can get an external macerator pump and the necessary fittings to do away with the in-tank pump for about $175.00. Then you won't have to fool with removing that intank pump again.

    New NC Dealer Named

I hope R.I.M. has better service and management than they did in the 90s and early 2000s.

    Buffing, againnnn

There is indeed a detail buffer. It requires a compressor as it is pneumatic though. I used one a few weeks ago. It uses about a 3 inch 3M pad and works awesome. Here is link to something similar to what I used. http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200326494_200326494

    Resolution of my 250

Think about this for a second. If what you are saying is true. The prop turning the engine backwards would grenade the motor. Slamming the motor in reverse does not make the exhaust become the intake. It might shear off output shaft or strip some gears, but it will not reverse the...

    hard steering

Does the upper pivot point on your outboard have grease come out when you put it in the zerk fitting? On mine that was the culprit. The parrafin carrier in the grease had gotten coagulated up there making the steering very stiff over the winter. You can try taking the pressure off by using a...

    Interior cushion - original supplier

For 2500 dollars you can get someone to redo your entire cabin. New Cushions and Curtains. Just go to someone who sews curtains and drapes. They should be able to help with getting a replacement fabric and foam if needed.

    Inverter/Charger help

Evidently over the winter the inverter/charger on the sailfish(97 model) went kaput. I get no AC output from the unit when I run it from the house battery. The unit is a heart freedom 1000 watt model. I priced a new xantrax 1000 watt unit with a charger. The problem with that unit is that it...

    Fuel Line Replacement Advice?

I used some old evinrude anti-corrosion spray I had. It is really thick and holds up well over time.

    Fuel Line Replacement Advice?

I did this on our 97 sailfish last month. I took the deck up and replaced all the hoses and fuel lines and the fuel filter housings as well. It took a few hours and gave me a chance to inspect everything under the deck and clean the fuel tank and spray it down with some anti-corrosion spray. It...

looking for some info on a 1986 22 seafarer OMC 2.6 Seadrive

The Fuel consumption was awful by todays standards. It was bad back in 1986.

looking for some info on a 1986 22 seafarer OMC 2.6 Seadrive

We used to own a 1986 23 foot sea ox with the 2.6 seadrive. They made about 190 hp and they did love the gas. Overall it was a fairly reliable engine. We kept ours 13 years and saw the transition from tcw-2 oil to tcw-3 oil. I noticed a marked improvement in fuel economy (it went from 1mpg...

    Rear Coaming Bolster

If you look at the drain hole grommets on the underside of the bolster you shoul find a screw in each grommet. After removing those screws just lift the bolster straight up.

    Shipping a Grady

Actually this is a common misconception that disk brakes stop better than drum brakes. Drums have superior stopping power. Drums, however, are not a good choice for boat trailers dues to repeated immersion in water and they are much higher maintenance. Disks are less prone to fade. That is why...
