    fuel tank install?

The round plastic puck is likely a depth finder transducer. If its not connected to any thing it's leftover from a depth finder that has been removed.

    High Water Alarm

Ok, check these out. They look a little more heavy duty. A better chance of being waterproof. They carry them at Defender. http://www.aqualarm.net/comerus/store/c ... ategory=69 http://search.defender.com/?expression=aqualarm

    Manual vs Hydraulic Steering Question

Once you have hydraulic steering you won't know how you did without it. I'm not sure what length hoses you need but I'm sure Grady can tell you. Good luck with it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Teleflex ... iesQ5fGear

    High Water Alarm

Here is the one that I have. The only additional items you will need are marine grade tinned wire and heat shrink connectors. http://www.amazon.com/Rule-33ALA-Marine ... B000O8D2RG

    Tank Cover

Yes by all means make sure to exactly duplicate the worst part of your boat. Those panels are an embarrassment, make sure to copy them so they can fail again. This has got to be the most failure prone part of our boats, "it works", surely you jest! It's easy to see why they fail. Make the...

    Tank Cover

1/2" keeps the thickness close to the original dimensions. Any thicker and there could be clearance issues around the edges or with the braces across the tanks etc.

    Tank Cover

They were originally cored with end grain balsa which gives the appearance of squares of wood like parquet flooring. The correct replacement is 1/2" plywood or coosa or something similar. I cut the core around the screw holes so the screws do not penetrate the new core but pass through solid...

    Tank Cover

It's not a bad DIY project. Search "deck" on this forum and lots of people have done it and explained how they did it. I'm ready to do my second one soon. If you were closer I would let you help so you could see how it's done. It's not hard to make a few improvements so your new deck...

    Help Identifying Grady

Far as I know, that's a custom pilot house. That boat probably started life as a center console. Remember, sometimes the most expensive boat is a free one! Use the search function on this site. That boat has either had all the problem areas addressed or it needs lots of updates. Depends what's...

Cabin fan runs even when main switches are OFF

If there are other wires on the hot side of either battery, remove them 1 at a time until the fan stops. That should give you an idea where to start looking. Good luck with it.

    tigercat

This is the guy to ask about props. They have a pretty good exchange program so that you can try a few sets until you get the setup that suits you. Ken @ propgods.com http://www.propgods.com/content2/default.aspx

    4 killed in boating accident

I cant remember what I paid for mine but here it is. I always test it before a trip when I test my bilge float. I mounted the float a few inches higher than my bilge float so as soon as the bilge gets overwhelmed I get a light and a buzzer alarm. Long before the cavernous bilge is full of water...

I'm not sure what you mean by "falls on the stern from port to star". If the stern is riding low it's probably from the massive weight from those motors. If that is the issue maybe different props will help. Good luck with it.

    Considering 25' 1984 Sailfish with newer 4 stroke's

The first year for the new hull in the 25 is 1992. What year and hours are those motors. Expect a fair amount of repairs and replacements on any 84 or 92 boat. Try the search function on this forum. There's lots of stuff we could throw at you to scare you off. 27 year old hoses, clamps, wiring...
