    130 rod holders

Was wondering if anyone has had any issues with the 2 piece gunwales on the Grady 306. I put 0 degree swivels to fish for tuna and was told that the 2 piece gunwale wasn’t going to be strong enough. Would appreciate any insights/experience people have had. Thinking I need to come up with some...

    Fuse panel corrosion

Thanks for the reply! All of these can be sprayed directly on wiring/plastic/fuse panel?

    Fuse panel corrosion

This spring, got the boat out of storage up north and there was a fair amount of pitting/corrosion on the fuse panel. Other than more desiccants/moisture reduction, is there a spray that can be used in the center console on the wiring and fuse panels to reduce corrosion? Any input appreciated.

    Yamaha battery cables. 2004 225's

I had assumed that the rigger installed the battery cables since they wouldn't normally be part of the motor package. The lengths are all relatively custom depending on the hull. What I am asking is "are the battery cables Yamaha?" Yes, the cables that corroded were Yamaha. I was told that...

    Yamaha battery cables. 2004 225's

It's funny. I typically keep my boat hooked up to shore power, and I think that's why the boat would typically start when I would show up to go out. However, after the boat was running a while and I shut it down, it would often not start. That's why I thought it was the alternator or...

    Yamaha battery cables. 2004 225's

Thought I'd pass this along. I spent 2 1/2 years dealing with a starboard engine intermittently not starting. Initially, it seemed like it always happened after I had been running the engines and then wouldn't restart. Made cutting the engines fishing not very appealing. Then, engines would...

Salt water washdown and fresh water tank

Great advice. Thanks. Will go back and re-do the connections in the spring. Sounds like its worth the extra 30 minutes. Gotta keep things running until 3 foot-itis sets in. ;-)

Complete Restoration on a badly damaged 2009 232 Gulfstream

Re: Complete Restoration on a badly damaged 2009 232 Gulfstr Wow! Better than the original. Was wondering where to get the hardware to create that anchor set up, very clean and seems like it would work better than what I have with my windlass. Great job!

Salt water washdown and fresh water tank

Only took 2 months to get to it and 5 months to reply. Replaced the pump in about 30 minutes and worked like a charm. A little tricky getting at the screws where it had been places. Might recommend a 90 degree driver if you have one. And some band aids for the cuts on your head. Was only...

Drbatts, Missed this first time through. Looks like time to try the new pump. Thx again.

Salt water washdown and fresh water tank

Thanks to all for the thoughtful input. No noise from the pump when it shuts off. Tried the tapping of the pump to no avail. I'll try the screw adjust at the bottom of the pump and then next step will be to just replace the pump. Don't know what others' experience has been, but have read...

Salt water washdown and fresh water tank

New to my 2004 Islander with 2 questions. First is that my salt water washdown intermittently works. Will occasionally turn on with good pressure, but then shut off mid stream. Is there some kind of pressure sensing switch on the pump or anything else I need to look at. Most of the time just...
