This is an update to the corrosion issue thread in the exhaust port of 2004 yamaha four stroke 225's. Worked on the motors Saturday and today, removed the lower unit, to install impellar, looked up the exhaust port and saw some salt crystallization and carbon residue. There was some pitting in the exhaust but it all appears normal, no corrosion of any kind. Rubbed the salt crystals off and the port was in good shape. My buddy with the same year boat and motors had similar results, his work was performed last week. Hopefully this issue will be put to rest for most of you as well.
