Well bought the 226 with 427 hours this winter. Was looking for a 282 but plans changed and for the time being a smaller boat works best for us. In a month and a half put 50 hours on her up to 477.
personal opinion I looked for the 226 and not the 228. Right away had to remove the motor and replace the bang plate. Caught it in time and now it’s sealed with no buldges or cracks. Replaced the anchor windlass rope with 8 plate 250 ft. Moved batteries to starboard side. Hooked up stereo and Bluetooth and speakers.
3m imperial compound the entire boat and then pure wax afterwards. Even the top of hard top.
been offshore a lot of fishing, bar hopping, sand bars, and tubing.
cabin is great for the 10 month old baby and women to get changed and use the porta potty which the pump out is great.
I see why these boats fetch big bucks. They have a great ride and really are an suv of the 22’ class boat. And while many cuddy cabin boats have come and gone. I see why these Grady cuddys are still around in business.
