As an update to my previous post on this thread, I re-attached the transom plate using 3M 5200 after replacing the smaller screw (that the plate popped over) with a larger screw. I coated the entire area with 5200, understanding that it's "permanent" and not necessarily recommended by some (for that reason I presume), I was able to get a very good seal (and the guy at West Marine recommended the product for what that's worth). Only downside is that the 5200 was kind of messy, especially after the applicator tip popped off and disappeared (I did this work on a dock). Thanks for the help/suggestions.

you can also use 100% silicone, similiar to lifecaulk ( in my opinion), GE has an almond color that matches what Grady uses.
doesnt matter if is tub/ tile or door /window thats only for marketing purposes 100% = 100%
