Dolphin fishing has been great off Marathon for the last several weeks. Been leaving the Vaca Cut on a 150 heading, dropping lines in at about 400 feet and looking for birds, weed lines or both. Most action has been in 600 to 700 feet. Every fish has been at least 10 pounds, average is 15 and the biggest bull has been 35 pounds. Skirted ballyhoo trolled at about 7 knots has been the bait of choice. Blackfin tuna fishing has been spotty. Some days good, others not. No wahoo so far. Probably can't get by the dolphin.
