Last Friday went out to HRBT with brother and my son to try our luck. Weather was hot, high humidity, little to no wind, bay was flat calm, very hazy. Morning was slow, few small croakers near the shoals, nothing around the pilings or flats, except crabs. One a lark went out into channel, and drifted just as tide shifted and started knocking down 10-12in croakers on almost every cast. Depth was 45-55 ft, running double hook bottom rig and letting current run with it. Found that 2.5 oz sinker worked best, bait was cut squid. Finally got chased away by the T-storm that rolled thru the area. (Was able to make it to the dock before the heavans let loose!) Ended up with 25 croaker. Also caught 5 flounder but too small, 19in min in Va. Great day all the way around!
