The top mounded outriggers on my 283 do not easily telescope so they so they are usually extended to their full length. This obviously creates a pretty sizable moment arm on the base structure. I'm planning on a fairly long trip (250 Nmiles). I'll drop them all the way down and do my best to secure them but if it's in heavy seas, there's really no way to keep them from bouncing some and I'm concerned about a low cycle fatigue issue at the base. Just wondering if anyone has ever had any kind of problem with this. Thanks

haven't seen this personaly but have heard about them....you may want to install a larger backing plate to help spread the load....you may not like the look but it will save you a new hard top.

I've seen an attachment that you stick in the rod holder in your rocket launcher and it has a "Y" look to it. The outrigger then drops into it and it gives it more support.

Not sure but it may have been on Birdsall's website (not sure I spelled that right)
