Hi All, I'm juuuust about a new Grady White Seafarer owner and have the most basic question. What does "G" mean with 228G's?

A 228 will have the motor mounted on the transom, and the transom will be open. A 228G will have a bracket on the transom that puts the motor back farther and gives you a enclosed transom. G stands for Grady bracket. I have a 1989 228G and it is a great boat.

The 228 and 228"G" are interchangable.

The model with the normal notched transom is the "226"...
