Trickle charging batteries on 95 Sailfish question

Hi, 95 Sailfish with 2 starting and 1 acc batteries... I would like to trickle charge before launch.. do I need to disconnect pos & neg connections or can I charge as is "in sync"?

Trickle charge

I had a 96 sailfish with the charger and 3 batteries and always charged with them connected. I now have a marlin with 4 batteries and do the same all winter. I keep the batteries in the boat and every now and then turn on the charger and let them charge. Never ever had a battery issue.
