sweet!

How far out do you go to go for those? Our tuna are 60nm off the SE NC coast (closer in northern NC). Of course they have mostly been MIA the past two years in the southern NC waters.

NOTE: This applies to yellowfin. There have been some blackfin in the stream this year. Of course the huge bluefins are often yards off the beach in the Winter but that is a whole different fishery which I am not equipped for.

Those we caught at 37.09 and 123.09 about 35 to 40 miles from Half Moon Bay where we launched. Usually they come in to about 30 miles. It was early but they only get a little bigger to about 40-45 pounds. 40 was the biggest I have heard of this year. It has been dead over on the Pacific side as well. Get this one, bought the boat then the very next year they closed the salmon season. That sucked.

Bluefin

I guess we are lucky up here in Mass. The bluefin are everywhere on and around Stellwagen bank which is only 20 miles from my port.

That's what I need. Whenever I say I want to catch one that big, they always say, be careful what you wish for.

By the way Wads, nice fish. I bet the loins were huge.
