Would anyone be interested in having starboard work done?

Fish tales, seems like a great idea and do not see why it couldn't be done. Great way to add additional storage also. Wish I had a Marlin nearby to take a closer look at this. I would need some good pictures and accurate dimensions to move forward on this. Need to see where to make room for the box to mount and have the companion seat mount on top of it. I'm sure we could get creative and it would come out great. If you would like to move forward on this send me your contact info and I will get you in touch with my father.

Ok. Let me take some pics. I have the seat off currently and I can work up the dimensions. I was thinking the top would have holes placed in the top to allow bolts to be dropped into the box and through the bottom of the box and the liner. Drop the bolts thru and tighten down via access in the storage box door. This is how the seat mounts currently. No big deal, except locating the top holes to ensure access to the mount points.

Assuming the drawers are removable from the box, it should be possible to drill the (4) mounting holes in the top of the box (as was done with the bottom of the box and liner) and drop the seat on. We would have to ensure access to the bolt locations by taking out the drawers.

You can see the companion seat in the pic. It is mounted to the liner box with (4) bolts that pass through the liner box top. There are washers and nylock nuts that hold the seat to the liner. Access is via the storage door below. I'll look for some other pics.

I wish I had a dang companion seat... hate the dual captain's seats.

@jbrinch - I sent you an email with a 6mb video of what I was looking for. Let give me a call if interested, please. Thanks!

Back in 2006 the up charge was $650 additional (plus helm seat chair delete) for it. After seeing how it was built, I'd go with a proven helm seat any day of the week. Can't believe how some of the stuff us built on these boats. Looks nice covered with all the fancy stitching and stuff, but under the quality isn't there IMHO.

I’d be interested in a price for the toe rail, rod holders, stern seat bases, and stern/ live well rod holder mounts for an 88offshore.
Let me know

Sent you an email on the Marlin companion seat cabinet.

Moving forward with this. If anyone has a Marlin with a companion seat and is interested in learning what I'm doing, give me a shout. Basically a 6" high box that will sit between the seat and the liner base to raise the seat 6" for better visibility and give me (2) additional drawers for storage. BTW, this concept would work for anyone with a companion seat albeit the dimensions would change based on the actual seat dimension.

Hi
I have 3 openings that need to
Be re-done.
I have the hole opening and the
Outer dimensions. The problem is
That the outer frames cracked.
What might be the best way to
Get an idea of what this might
Cost? My doors are glass but solid
Would be okay. Please advise.
Thanks, Steve R
