    Transom Rebuild - 1984 25' Sailfish/1999 200 Suzuki OB

Thanks UCPA111 , I'm fairly handy, but not enough to take that on, more power to you! So around $5k +/-, and I'm afraid of what else might show up once it's done...

    Transom Rebuild - 1984 25' Sailfish/1999 200 Suzuki OB

I'm looking at purchasing this boat, appears in great shape: All wood redone, deck and stringers replaced 5 yrs ago, gas tanks replaced recently along with fuel lines, new electronics panel, etc., price is a steal. It has twin 200hp 1999 2-Stroke Suzuki's. This boat is a classic, and shows...

Need help with handling a Grady White 265

Just an additional morsel for thought...I had a similar problem with my 24 Offshore. Felt heavy and sluggish, and listed uncharacteristically. Turned out (I discovered once the boat was haled out) that the inner hull was full of water, bilge had not been operating properly. I removed the drain...

    Trailer recommendations for 240 Offshore

Thanks very much for that info. I'm paying $400/trip (so $800/year) now. Getting steep, and I'm looking to have the opportunity to tow and use in different areas, maybe 2 or 3 times more a year. I'll check out that Venture bunk trailer!

    Trailer recommendations for 240 Offshore

I'm looking for recommendations on trailer for my 1989 240 Offshore. I've owned for 10 years but always had it hauled. Thinking I'll need dual axle, will need brakes on it, but questions beyond that... - Galvanized vs. Aluminum? - Bunk vs. Roller? - other recommendations?? Thanks in advance...

    Yamaha Gas Gauge

I also have the same problem on my digital gauge, tank level remains unchanged (but still reads). I was told the sender was the issue, as mentioned. I am unable to remove the sender from my tank, one of the thru-bolt heads is stripped. Can't drill it out at risk of debris entering the fuel mix...

Parthery & CleanupRequired- Just got the callback from the marina...they replaced all three Low Pressure Fuel pumps and gave her a test run, tell me it's ready to go. Good call!! And many thanks. Hopefully that's it for the season...

Offshore fuel tank issues? Low speed stalling

VST was the first thing they serviced on it, thinking it was the issue...alas, the problem continues. Low Pressure pumps, you say??...

Offshore fuel tank issues? Low speed stalling

Is anyone aware of there being an ongoing issue with fuel tank deterioration in '89 Offshore? I'm powered by '98 Yamaha OX66 2 stroke, constant stalling at low speed after a period of use. Runs fine initially at high speed. Been in shop twice, not solving issue. Fearing that fuel tank may be on...

Spring startup problems Yamaha 250/24' Offshore

Thanks Odessa. The water separater is mounted separately before the engin, actual fuel filter assembly is on the engine. I did replenish both filters, filled the engine fuel filter container with fuel, but not to the full mark (about 3/4), I'll fill that to the top. And I'll keep on primin'...

Spring startup problems Yamaha 250/24' Offshore

thanks, I did find the bulb (no switch on my dash), but it doesn't seem to be priming, maybe an obstruction in the line? I'll look at that again. and, yes, I have forgotten the lanyard in the past. I was sure to check that first this time!

Spring startup problems Yamaha 250/24' Offshore

Just tried to start up the Yamaha after mechanically prepping it to my best ability. I grew up maintaining my smaller outboards, but this one's a different animal. I changed out the fuel filter, water/fuel separator filter, checked and refreshed the fuel (no water detected in tank)...

Where to put speakers on '89 24 OffShore

Thanks! I see where you've mounted the speakers. I looked at that but was concerned about the close proximity to the gas fill hose on the starboard side (maybe your setup is different). Perhaps I'm overthinking it though, thanks! BTW, how are those JBL's holding up?

Where to put speakers on '89 24 OffShore

Thanks Thanks, I'll check that out. I've got rod mounts under there, though, might not be much room. I was also considering shallow speakers mounted flush in the fiberglass seat bases that house the tackle drawers, facing astern. They'd really have to be shallow speakers to fit in front of...

Where to put speakers on '89 24 OffShore

I just installed a new Clarion stereo last season and one pair of speakers in cockpit area. Problem is, you can't hear well in back of the boat. I'm looking to install 2nd pair, probably (6" two-way) somewhere in rear of cockpit for better sound but can't decide upon a suitable area. Also...
