I agree with Plymouth. Either re-splice a new eye, or put one on the other end. If you don't feel you can do it well enough you can talk to a marina to see if they can, or maybe chat with the local Coast Guard or Coast Guard Auxiliary. They certainly will have someone that can do it.

Any reason why no to use Teak oil. Since your doing the rest of the teak anyway. Probably last longer.
